FURTHER to the ‘spectator’s guide’ article in AW Basics in the June 14 issue of Athletics Weekly, the British Athletics Supporters’ Club has reminded us about the superb service they provide for fans of the sport.

“We have circa 1300 members and welcome followers of athletics supporting British athletes at both home and abroad and have many members who do not travel to meetings but follow the sport through television and the media,” says membership secretary Eric Thompson.

“A magazine is produced for members three times a year and an annual year book is also provided. Event tickets at very good locations in the stadia both home and abroad as well as accommodation is made available through our tour operators, which ensures that like-minded athletics enthusiasts are located together.

“We have for the last two years organised a members’ dinner and David Moorcroft and Katharine Merry have been our consecutive guests/speakers.”
